In the third semester of my BSMS at IISER Mohali I credited a mandatory one credit course titled “IDC211: Workshop Training”.
Course content
In this course the students undertake workshop training in various fields including machine shop, woodwork, welding, glass blowing etc. The idea is to equip them with basic workshop training so that they are able to build things and fabricate equipment required for their research projects.
IISER Mohali did not have infrastructure to facilitate this course, so we went to Punjab Engineering College (PEC) every saturday for the whole day for the classes.
