Let’s say someone asks a question in a chat. You see a reply that is somewhere between partially and completely a word salad answer. A word salad is a bunch of words mushed together which might form a coherent sentence but definitely “makes no sense”. Alright, the answer might just be partially or completely wrong even though it makes complete sense.
What do you do?
Is it not your obligation to correct it, rather than giving a new answer?
Of course this will not be recieved well by the replier. It’ll be termed “pointless lecturing”. Even though if the roles were reversed, they would do the same!
